States Parties may request advice from the European Union on national legislation and other measures to implement the BTWC. Experts from EU Member States are available to engage in a dialogue in response to such requests.

Examples of advice that may be sought include:

• The appropriateness of existing national laws and measures to implement the State's obligations under the BTWC;
• Approaches to implementing the treaty obligations in national legislation and other measures; and
• Commenting on draft laws and measures.
